 In the beginning you are a reader. You read and read and read and then, one day, you realize that you want to try to write, too. And, surprisingly, you are able to. Not only that, you are able to do it with ease, elegance, and self-confidence. How sad though that after a while we often forget our lessons. We think that we are done with learning now. But it is now that we are only beginning to grab what a good sentence is, a natural but not too real dialogue, a perfect beginning, a lively description. Only when we become writers ourselves we realize the work behind the scenes. We don?t read just for pleasure anymore, but to study. We become the magician?s assistant.
In each session, we explore a story according to an important writing tool. We try to discover every ingredient, even the secret ones. The stories in question are the most famous, the most anthologized short stories in English literature and we?ll find out why.
The course is both for writers and for readers who?d like to increase their sensitivity to the elements of the writer?s craft.
Our course language is English. Your course instructor can answer your questions in German when required.

Jesse Falzoi's short stories have appeared in magazines and anthologies in Germany and abroad. She won literary awards in Germany and Switzerland. Jesse has a MA in Literature and an MFA in Creative Writing and focuses on fiction and non-fiction www.jessefalzoi.de
